1
Place in Truck Bed

Lower the Crash Crate into the truck bed. Position it against the cab bulkhead for maximum protection from rear impact. Two-person lift recommended for Pro models.

2
Attach Anchor Straps

Connect the included mil-spec tie-down straps to the 4 integrated D-ring mounts on the crate. Route straps to your truck's factory tie-down cleats or after-market anchors.

3
Tension and Check

Ratchet each strap until firmly tensioned. The crate should not shift under lateral or longitudinal force. Give it a firm push in each direction to verify.

4
Load Your Dog

Open the front door (single-hand butterfly latch), load your dog, and secure both latches. The secondary pin lock prevents accidental opening. Done.

★★★★★

"Pro fits perfectly in my F-250. My German Shepherd has room to turn around and the build quality is just on another level compared to anything else I looked at."

"Ordered the Pro 48" for my Tundra. Took 20 minutes to install. My dog jumped right in. The powder coat is flawless and those latches are solid as a vault."

★★★★★

"The tie-down system alone is worth the price difference over the competition. I don't trust my Malinois's life to a ratchet strap and a piece of plastic. These D-rings are the real deal."

Will the Pro fit my 5.5 ft F-150 bed?
Yes — the 42" Pro model fits cleanly in a 5.5 ft F-150 bed. The 48" model requires at least a 6.5 ft bed. We recommend confirming on our Truck Fit Guide.
Can I use this with a tonneau cover?
Most soft roll-up covers cannot be used with the crate installed. Hard folding tonneau covers typically conflict with the crate height. We recommend a bed cap/topper instead for weather protection. Contact us for specific cover/crate compatibility questions.
Does it come assembled?
Yes. Every Crash Crate ships fully assembled and welded. You attach the strap kit and you're done. No tools required for installation.
How long does it take to ship?
Allow 3–5 business days for fabrication, then 3–7 days shipping (continental US). Expedited builds available — contact us if you have a deadline.
What's covered under the lifetime warranty?
The structural frame and all hardware (latches, D-rings, hinges) are covered for the life of the original purchaser. Powder coat is covered for 5 years. Dog-caused damage, surface rust from neglected maintenance, and modifications are not covered.
